Pahal Organization Organizes Sharbat Stalls on Nirjala Ekadashi
With North India currently in the grip of a severe heatwave, the team from the Pahal Welfare Foundation volunteered their services on the auspicious occasion of Nirjala Ekadashi (Tuesday, June 18, 2024) by setting up stalls serving cold, sweet *sharbat* (refreshing drink) at various locations in Gautam Buddha Nagar to provide relief from the scorching heat. Women played a particularly significant role in volunteering for this initiative. The Pahal organization set up these stalls for hundreds of people at locations in Greater Noida West, including the Shri Kupeshwar Mahadev Temple (Gaur City-2), near JKG Palm Court, and near the intersection of Shri Radha Sky Garden and French Apartments. D.K. Singh, the organization's President, noted that this year's extreme heat has shattered previous records and set a new high for maximum temperatures, causing great hardship for two-wheeler riders and auto-rickshaw drivers on the roads. Consequently, continuing its annual tradition, the organization is making a modest effort to provide relief from the intense heat to lakhs of people across various cities in the country. Hundreds of members were present at today's event, including Pahal Welfare Foundation President D.K. Singh and program coordinators K.K. Singh, Anand Mishra, Aman Narang, Tuhin Saxena, Ashutosh Srivastava, Chhitij Gupta, Ramnarayan Tripathi, Priya Singh, Beenu Singh, Renuka, Neetu Rai, Mamta, Anupama, Garima, Kusum, Akanksha, Ayushman, and Abhinav.
