Today, the Pahal Welfare Foundation extended a helping hand to hundreds of families left homeless by the rising water levels of the Yamuna in Delhi, providing them with food supplies and other essentials. Indian culture teaches that serving humanity is akin to serving the Divine; those who assist the needy are true social workers. While everyone lives for themselves, those who step forward to help others are true human beings.
The Pahal team met with the displaced families and their young children to inquire about their well-being. The families shared their plight, explaining that their homes were completely submerged and they lacked even basic food rations; all their household belongings had been ruined by the water. The children mentioned that their school books and notebooks had also been soaked and destroyed. The organization assured the families of all possible assistance.
D.K. Singh, President of the Pahal organization, stated that the situation of the hundreds of families displaced by the rising Yamuna waters is heart-wrenching, and all those who are well-off should step forward to assist them. He added that the organization would continue to provide aid—including food, fruits, milk, clothing, and stationery—to the best of its ability; today, hundreds of families are being supported with supplies such as flour, rice, lentils, spices, and bananas. "We are assisting these families in line with our organization's ethos. You, too, can contact the Pahal Welfare Foundation to help the affected families in and around Delhi; we will always be grateful for your support," he said.
Organization President D.K. Singh, along with Priya Singh, Rajiv Chatterjee, Deepak Chauhan, Jai Bhagwan, and others, were present on the occasion.
