एक पौधा केवल मिट्टी में नहीं, बल्कि भविष्य की सांसों में लगाया जाता है। इसी विचार को साकार करते हुए पहल वेलफेयर फाउंडेशन ने जनपद अलीगढ़, बुलंदशहर, गाजियाबाद और गौतमबुद्धनगर में वृहद वृक्षारोपण अभियान चलाकर पर्यावरण संरक्षण का प्रेरणादायी संदेश दिया।
अभियान के अंतर्गत जनपद के 12 स्थानों पर लगभग 1,000 पौधों का रोपण किया गया। विद्यालय में बच्चों ने स्वयंसेवकों के साथ मिलकर पौधे लगाए और अपने नाम का एक पौधा संभालने का संकल्प भी लिया।
संस्था के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष मुनेश तेवतिया ने कहा कि धरती को हरा-भरा बनाना हम सभी का साझा दायित्व है।
फाउंडेशन के संस्थापक एवं राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष डीके सिंह ने कहा कि आज जलवायु परिवर्तन पूरी दुनिया के सामने एक गंभीर चुनौती है। ऐसे समय में वृक्षारोपण केवल सामाजिक दायित्व नहीं, बल्कि मानवता की सेवा है।
कार्यक्रम के समापन पर प्रदेश महासचिव शकील अहमद ने अभियान को सफल बनाने वाले सभी पदाधिकारियों, स्वयंसेवकों, सामाजिक संगठनों एवं स्थानीय नागरिकों का आभार व्यक्त किया।
Volunteers, women, social workers and a large number of children planted around 1,100 saplings at seven locations across Bulandshahr and Gautam Buddha Nagar — mango, neem, peepal, banyan, arjun and jamun. The children pledged to adopt the saplings they planted.
