As it does every year, Pahal Welfare Foundation distributed blankets in Greater Noida this year too, to protect needy families from the biting cold.
The programme was begun from the very first day of January, and blankets were distributed at various locations — in jhuggi-jhopdi settlements, to the priests of temples, to labourers working by the roadside, and to needy families who make their living on rehri-patri carts.
Foundation president D.K. Singh said the organisation is a registered non-profit, non-political and charitable body that works as a resource for people, organisations and institutions in need.
Sachin Kumar, Kuldeep Nagar, Priya Singh, Hemen Singh and Saksham Singh were among the members who took part in the blanket-distribution programme.
Around 1,000 saplings were planted at 12 locations across the district, part of a drive spanning Aligarh, Bulandshahr, Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar — with school children planting alongside our volunteers.
