Heaters and blowers for the police posts standing guard through a 2°C winter

Heaters and blowers for the police posts standing guard through a 2°C winter

Through the first week of January the minimum temperature across Delhi-NCR stayed below 2°C. Police personnel remain on duty 24×7 through exactly that cold, in roadside chowkis that hold the weather rather than keep it out.

On Monday, Pahal Welfare Foundation distributed electronic equipment — heaters and blowers — at police chowkis across the Gautam Buddha Nagar area.

Foundation president D.K. Singh said the cold gripping Delhi and NCR at that time made protection from it essential. He added that the foundation distributes thousands of blankets among those in need every year to give them relief from the severe cold, and that this year too the organisation had been distributing blankets continuously since December.

D.K. Singh, Anil Pratap Singh and Hemen Singh were among those present at the programme.
