Polio drops for 300+ children at 14th Avenue

Polio drops for 300+ children at 14th Avenue

Pahal Welfare Foundation ran a free pulse-polio campaign on Thursday 22 September at the 14th Avenue society in Gaur City, with the cooperation of the Pulse Polio programme, the Community Health Centre, the Badalpur unit and the government hospital.

Under the campaign a camp was set up and more than 300 children of the 14th Avenue society were given polio drops.

Foundation president D.K. Singh said the polio-drops camp was held in the society so that its children could be protected from polio. He added that, from a safety point of view, the polio-drops campaign was being run in phases for residents of different societies in Greater Noida West, so that no child would be left without a dose.

He explained that although polio has been eradicated in the country, giving children polio drops as a precaution remains necessary so that the disease cannot spread its feet in the country again.

D.K. Singh said a covid vaccination campaign had earlier been run for residents living in the societies of Greater Noida West; in the covid vaccination camps held in various phases, thousands of people from the societies received the covid vaccine and booster doses.

Present at the free polio-drop camp were D.K. Singh, H.N. Goyal, Rajeev Chatterjee, D.S. Pundir, Chetan Kumar, Vilas Munvantivar and other members.
